Maps, networks and literary graphics in Jorge Ibargüengoitia’s Herod’s Law: an autobiographic approach

Abstract

Herod’s Law is the most autobiographical text of the Jorge Ibargüengoitia narrative who, with his literary style, accounts for the experiences of a leading narrator who live in Mexico City in the fifties and sixties. From its perspective of society and interpersonal relationships it inhabits a space whose extratextual reference allows an approach to reality.  This article is based on the theory of Franco Moretti in order to bring the public and private spheres closer through the cartographic representation of the places in which the stories are developed.
