Abstract

In 1959, Julio Cortázar published “Las babas del diablo” in Las armas secretas. The plot of the story is simple: the main character is Roberto Michel, a Chilean amateur photographer and translator, who thwarts a teenager’s apparent seduction of an older woman by taking a photograph of the two of them.
